The ½ml-long grass terrace and adjoining woodland offer vistas over Rievaulx Abbey (English Heritage) to Ryedale and the Hambleton Hills. There is an abundance of flowers in spring. The two mid-18th-century temples include the Ionic Temple, intended as a banqueting house with elaborate ceiling paintings and fine 18th-century furniture.
