THE BACKPACKER'S ESSENTIAL SURVIVAL COURSE

Whether you intend to spend a day walking on Dartmoor National Park or a month trekking the mountain paths of Nepal it is essential for the backpacker and adventure traveller to know the rudimentary skills that will enable them to enjoy and if necessary survive, in these beautiful but inherently dangerous environments. This new course run by experienced instructors has been designed to prepare the backpacker or adventurer for life on the road and in the great outdoors.

LOCATION: Essex (South East)

AGENDA: Participants arrive at around 9am. There will be a registration and tea/coffee as well as a welcome briefing and a presentation on the principles of survival. Participants will then move to the wood and lake area where the overall group will break down into smaller groups and rotate around the various course elements which include survival and bushcraft skills, navigation, first aid, travel safety, personal security and equipment advice. Lunch is at 1pm and consists of "boil in the bag" travel rations, and for the more brave a sample of wild food. The afternoon is spent completing the course and the day ends at around 4pm. Travel and survival equipment demonstrated throughout the day will be available for purchase at the end of the day.

NOTES: On purchasing this experience you will be issued with a voucher valid for ten months. You are then free to contact the operator directly to book a date for your experience. Minimum age is 16. There will be other participants there on the day.
